Aerflow Terms of Service
1. Agreement
By downloading, accessing, or using Aerflow, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Aerflow is operated by Switchyard Studio. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Service Description
Aerflow is a personal informational tool designed to help pilots organize schedule information, view flight status, and access public aviation weather. Optional features include a personal logbook for storing, importing, calculating, and exporting flight records; Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island; friend schedule sharing; and Crew Lock Screen tracking for friends you authorize. Aerflow is not an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), dispatch system, crew scheduling system, certified aviation product, or FAA-approved recordkeeping authority. It does not replace operator-approved manuals, dispatch releases, or regulatory guidance, and it does not certify aeronautical experience. Live Activities and shared status displays are informational and may be delayed, especially when the app is in the background.
3. Subscriptions
Certain Aerflow features require a paid subscription, billed through Apple’s App Store:
Signed-in accounts can add unlimited flights and view gates and delays when opening Today or pulling to refresh. Continuous live status throughout the day, Live Activities, turbulence insights, Pilot Stats, and Crew Lock Screen tracking require Aerflow Pro (or the complimentary first duty day).
- Aerflow Pro ($7.99/month or $79.99/year, with a 14-day free trial) — live gates and delays throughout the day, turbulence insights, Live Activities, Pilot Stats, and unlimited Lock Screen followers (friends never need their own subscription)
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Any free trial, if offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Aerflow only for lawful, personal purposes. You may not:
- Use Aerflow for operational flight planning, dispatch release, or regulatory compliance decisions
- Represent Aerflow totals, imports, calculations, or exports as an FAA certification of your aeronautical experience, or as a substitute for reviewing your own records
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the app or its services
- Share account credentials or misuse friend-sharing features to expose others’ data without consent
- Enable Crew Lock Screen tracking for someone who has not opted in, or monitor colleagues without their knowledge and consent
- Upload or share information in violation of your employer’s confidentiality policies
- Use Aerflow in any way that harms us, other users, or third-party providers
5. Third-Party Data
Aerflow displays data from third-party sources, including FlightAware, the FAA Releasable Aircraft Database (airframe make/model for U.S. registrations when available), and public aviation weather providers. FlightAware status and tracking data are typically requested by Aerflow servers when you are signed in. How often we request fresh data depends on whether you are using one-shot status or Aerflow Pro continuous live status. We do not control and cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party data. Delays, omissions, and errors may occur. You are responsible for verifying all operational information through approved sources before making aviation decisions.
6. Logbook Records
If you use Aerflow’s logbook, import, calculation, or export features, you acknowledge that Aerflow provides software to help you store and compute records that you create, import, or accept. You own your logbook content.
You are solely responsible for reviewing every entry; for determining whether a flight may legally be logged, including as PIC, SIC, dual, solo, night, instrument, or any other category; for verifying actual out, off, on, and in times against 14 CFR 1.1 flight time and your own operational records; and for correcting imported, derived, or calculated data before you rely on it. You are solely responsible for any use of those records to apply for a certificate or rating, to meet recency requirements, to seek employment or insurance, or to make any other representation of your experience.
Some values are imported from files you provide. Some are derived from third-party operational data, including FlightAware. Some, including night time, may be estimated. Aerflow does not independently verify that any displayed time is legally loggable.
Aerflow does not certify, validate, endorse, or guarantee your flight time or aeronautical experience. Aerflow is not an FAA-approved recordkeeping authority, is not a substitute for your legal recordkeeping obligations, and has not been approved or accepted by the FAA as an electronic recordkeeping system. Nothing in Aerflow is an FAA finding that your records are accurate or that they satisfy any certificate, rating, recency, employment, or insurance requirement. Do not rely on Aerflow as the sole source for proving aeronautical experience. Keep independent backups.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
AERFLOW IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AERFLOW WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY OPERATIONAL USE.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aerflow and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including claims arising from your reliance on logbook totals, imports, calculations, or exports. Our total liability for any claim relating to Aerflow will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app or subscriptions in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars if you have not paid anything. This limitation does not apply to liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. User Content
You may enter schedule information, profile details, photos, and logbook data in Aerflow, including files you import. You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display your content as needed to operate the service — for example, storing your private personal schedule and preferences for account backup and sync, shared schedule snapshots for friends you approve, profile photos, and Live Activity context. You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload and that doing so complies with your employer’s policies.
10. Intellectual Property
Aerflow, its design, logos, and software are owned by Switchyard Studio or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding except as needed to use the app.
11. Termination
You may stop using Aerflow at any time and may delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the updated Terms in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply.
14. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Switchyard Studio from claims arising from your misuse of Aerflow, your violation of these Terms, your sharing of information in violation of applicable law or employer policies, or your submission or representation of Aerflow logbook data as your aeronautical experience, except to the extent a claim is caused by Switchyard Studio’s willful misconduct or as otherwise prohibited by law.
15. Apple
Aerflow is made available through Apple’s App Store. These Terms are between you and Switchyard Studio, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. In the event of any failure of Aerflow to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Eligibility
Aerflow is intended for users age 16 and older. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
